The economic downturn has been hitting for a few years now. Many people have been had their hours/pay cut, laid off, or even fired. This hadn't really effected me all that much until now, starting next week (Today is Feb. 8, 2016) my full-time job will become a part-time job.
As a web designer and developer I've had a few tense encounters that were completely offsetting, and I know that I'm not the only one. Creative professionals many times deal with people who are rude, brash, and down right disrespectful. I think many people forget that we are professionals who have been learning, developing, and improving our craft for years, many of us since we were children. To my creative comrades, don't forget you were hired because you're a professional in your field. To the clients and potential clients, you hired a creative because he/she is a professional in their field, not you.
Presence on the web has become one of the most important tools in business. Many have tried with Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, and website builders only to frustrated with the outcome and not having the control they desire. I take it if you're reading this post that you are also one who has tried building your own website using free website builders to save money but no one ever talks about how that decision may be costing you more business than you know.
I'm pretty sure you've heard the importance of be physically fit. A healthy life and body promotes good outcomes and a longer life, but just as important are the benefits of being 'socially fit'. What does it mean to be socially fit? I'm glad you asked. A socially fit person is one who is confident, speaks well, and can hold their own in environments that require one to build relationships with others.
